Period & Heritage Interiors
We design and make bespoke fitted furniture for period and heritage homes, working sensitively with the architecture, proportions, and material language of each property.
Our approach is rooted in restraint, longevity, and respect for the original building. Rather than imposing a fixed style, every piece is shaped by the character of the house itself — allowing new joinery to feel as though it has always belonged.

Working with historic architecture
Period homes demand a different pace and level of consideration. Ceiling heights vary, walls are rarely true, and original features often dictate how a space should be treated.
We take time to understand these conditions, designing furniture that responds to them quietly and intelligently. Cornices, skirtings, alcoves, chimney breasts, and panelling are all carefully considered so that new work integrates seamlessly with the existing fabric of the building.
The result is fitted furniture that feels resolved and sympathetic, never forced.

Period homes demand a different pace and level of consideration. Ceiling heights vary, walls are rarely true, and original features often dictate how a space should be treated.
Our period and heritage joinery forms part of our bespoke fitted furniture work, designed to respect the character, materials and proportions of traditional properties across the region.

Proportion, balance, and visual calm
In heritage interiors, proportion is everything. Cabinet heights, panel divisions, shadow lines, and moulding profiles are all refined to sit comfortably within the room.
We avoid unnecessary decoration, instead allowing the architecture and materials to speak. This restraint creates spaces that feel calm, elegant, and enduring — furniture that supports the room rather than competing with it.
Materials and traditional craftsmanship
Material choice is guided by the age, location, and character of the property. Natural timbers, painted finishes, and understated hardware are selected for their ability to age gracefully over time.
Joinery detailing is kept precise and intentional. Where appropriate, traditional construction methods are employed alongside modern accuracy, ensuring both authenticity and longevity.
Every piece is made to order, with finishes developed to feel appropriate to the house rather than newly applied.
Designed, made, and installed by our workshop
All furniture is designed, crafted, and installed by our own workshop team. This allows full control over proportion, construction, finish, and fit at every stage of the process.
By limiting the number of commissions we undertake each year, we ensure each project receives the time and attention it requires. From early design development through to final installation, the work remains consistent, accurate, and carefully managed.
A discreet and considered process
Our process is collaborative but unhurried. Initial conversations are informal, allowing us to understand both the property and how it is lived in.
Design development is thorough, installation is measured, and disruption is kept to a minimum. We work respectfully within lived-in homes and heritage environments, ensuring the experience is as considered as the finished result.

Period furniture commissions include
- Fitted wardrobes and dressing rooms
- Alcove cabinetry and bookcases
- Libraries and studies
- Media units designed for heritage rooms
- Made-to-measure storage throughout the home
Each commission is approached individually, with solutions tailored to the architecture rather than repeated as a formula.
